Yes, Nest Cameras work with Alexa.

How does Amazon Alexa work with your nest camera?

If you enable the Nest Camera skill on Amazon Alexa you it will allow you to see a live feed of your nest smart cameras but you must have an Amazon Alexa Spot or an Amazon Alexa Show to see the video feed.

Connecting your Amazon Echo to your Nest Camera is great option to quickly pull up your nest camera or nest smart doorbell feed without the need for your phone.  I have an Amazon Alexa Spot in the office so I can see my nest cameras quickly with just with a short voice command "Alexa, show me front yard".  Below you can see a live view example of  feed on the Amazon Echo Spot

Use the Echo Show or Spot with a Nest Cam as a baby monitor.

The Echo Show or spot can also be used paired with a nest camera as a baby monitor. In the middle of the night if your phone is dead you can pull up your camera feed on your echo show to see what your baby is doing without the need for your phone. I would get the Echo Show if I were using it with a nest camera as a baby monitor because it’s larger 10” screen has the best resolution.

The great thing about getting an Amazon Echo Show or spot is that it has the video functionality, built in Amazon Alexa, and full smart home functionality the Amazon Alexa devices are known for. You can also control your lighting, smart thermostats, and lock with the Amazon Echo show. Both devices have tens of thousands of skills with new skills being added each day.

What is the best device to use to view nest cameras?

The new Echo Show with it’s 10” screen is the hands down winner to view your nest cameras on your Echo device. The large high resolution screen is even better than viewing the camera on your phone.

Can you use Amazon Alexa as a doorbell chime?

Unfortunately, no.

Amazon Alexa does not allow in bound sound notifications from third party devices and applications within the Amazon Alexa ecosystem because Amazon does not want you to be overwhelmed from notifications from your voice assistant.  So there is no way currently (October 2018) to use your Amazon Alexa as a doorbell chime to notify you if someone is at the front door.   However you can use a google home mini as a doorbell chime.

What other cameras can you view on Echo Show or Spot?

The full line up of nest cameras can be viewed on both the echo show and spot, but you can also pull up the live video feed of the following cameras on Echo Show or Spot:
